Meet Ms. Jenkins

LaKeysha Jenkins is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, where she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She earned her Master of Science in nursing with an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner concentration from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Ms. Jenkins began practicing as a nurse practitioner in primary care after graduation. She immediately found an interest in the mental health aspect of her primary care practice. After working in the Primary Care setting for many years she returned to Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas to pursue her Post-Graduate Psychiatric Mental Health NP certification. Ms. Jenkins is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Jenkins is an adjunct faculty instructor at a local university educating nursing students to prepare for their future roles as registered nurses.

Ms. Jenkins is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Obesity Medicine Association, and Chi Eta Phi Incorporated professional nursing sorority.

Ms. Jenkins is passionate about the work she does and takes pride in giving quality care with respect and compassion to every one of her patients. She enjoys educating her patients and the community so they too can be advocates for their care.
